One of the best things about Twitter (X), was the vibrant writing community. With just a hashtag you could find writers, hear about submission opportunities, announce new published works, and get support.
There are still a good number of writers on twitter but daily usage is down and the algorithms have changed. The end result: it’s more and more difficult to make connections and engage.
Tangled Locks Journal has been building a presence on many of the social media platforms and Bluesky Social is one of our favorites. It has a quirky creative community that is growing. But it can be difficult to find other writers.
The trick is to use the feeds function and subscribe to a few. Then, when you log in, you can quickly view new posts filtered by your interest. Just a quick search for “writer” in BlueSky popped a writing community feed, game writers, black writers, horror writing, and many more.
We will be subscribing to a writing related feeds over the next few days to connect with more writers.
You can create your own feeds too!

Let’s connect on BlueSky!
If you are on Bluesky, give us a follow on our Bluesky account @tangledlockslit.bsky.social. If you have not yet tried out this platform, reach out! We have a couple of new invitation codes to share. Just email us to get your invitation.
